Recruiting: Chair of the Board of Trustees

Are you passionate about equipping young people with the skills to respond to conflict, injustice, and polarisation through dialogue, non-violent action, human rights, and democratic participation?

About the role

SNS is seeking an exceptional Chair to lead its Board at a critical and exciting stage of development. Joining our Board as a Chair or as a Trustee is a great opportunity to play a meaningful role in an organisation doing vital work at the intersection of peace education, conflict resolution, and youth leadership.

We are also keen to hear from prospective Trustees and welcome a wide range of skills and backgrounds. Even if you only partially meet the criteria, we encourage you to submit an Expression of Interest.

About SNS

In a world of deepening polarisation, SNS believes that the most contested topics are precisely the ones young people most need help to navigate. We bring Israeli and Palestinian peacebuilders into British secondary schools not to take sides, but to build empathy, critical thinking, and the skills to disagree well. We reach approximately 10,000 young people every year. And we are growing more and more.

We are looking for an exceptional Chair to lead our board through the next chapter of our development, someone who brings deep governance experience and personal gravitas, who can be a trusted critical friend to our Founder and Executive Director, and who has the confidence to represent an organisation doing some of the most important and challenging work in the education sector.

What difference will you make?

SNS is at a pivotal moment. Following a period of significant growth and overcoming challenge, the organisation has emerged more resilient, more experienced, and more needed than ever. The incoming Chair will help consolidate that progress, strengthening governance, continue to build and grow our community relationships while creating the conditions for sustainable growth. Your leadership will directly shape how many young people SNS is able to reach, and how effectively the organisation can fulfil its mission over the next five years.
