About SNS

SNS (Solutions Not Sides) builds democratic resilience in Britain through peace education. We equip young people aged 14-18 to respond to conflict, injustice and polarisation through dialogue, non-violent action, human rights and democratic participation, using Israel-Palestine as a case study. Our Palestinian and Israeli peacebuilders help classrooms explore diverse perspectives, win-win outcomes and active citizenship.

Role Summary 

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Intern (Paid) who will assist with a huge range of writing, research, and administrative processes; assist with marketing, logistics and support the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) working under the direction of the Operations & Events Coordinator. It’s an exciting opportunity for someone interested in nonprofit work, education, conflict resolution, and Israel-Palestine. 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities 

Event Logistics:

  • Support logistical arrangements for Youth Education Programme
  • Bookings for team bonding events and annual retreat
  • Provide support for the Olive Branch Community (OBC) and Teachers Conference 
  • Assist with organising follow-up and reunions of Youth Leadership alumni

Supporting SLT:

  • Set up meetings for SLT based on availability in calendar 
  • Assist SLT in other tasks where asked

Schools Programme:

  • Research schools and community groups in various geographical areas 
  • Support liaising with schools, councils and UK partner organisations 
  • Arrange speaker interviews
  • Assist with arrangements for travel, accommodation, stipend and tour logistics 

Administrative processes: 

  • Monitor team email account and calendar
  • Issue prep and follow-up materials for teachers
  • Process and database speaker applications
  • Schedule new speaker interviews
  • Order supplies/equipment when needed
  • Order printed admin materials e.g. letterhead, business cards etc.
  • Gift Aid applications
  • Prepare all admin materials for sessions
  • Database feedback for evaluation
  • Produce annual list of school/religious holidays
  • Procure feedback from schools (teachers and students)
  • Delegation to volunteers where needed

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Strong organisational, logistical and time management skills
  • Ability to work calmly in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Comfortable with some travel and flexible working hours 
  • Reliable, punctual, and proactive

Desirable:

  • Interest in education, youth work, peacebuilding or conflict resolution
  • Interest in working in event support
  • Awareness of the importance of impartiality and sensitivity in complex topics
